A county Roscommon centre for people with disabilities has received a glowing report from the health watchdog.
An announced inspection was carried out at Soolhaven residential centre in February, the details of which have been published this week.
Soolhaven is a residential service which provides long-stay residential/shared care for up to three residents who are diagnosed with autism and or an intellectual disability
The centre is located in a rural village, but within a short drive to a town with further amenities.
HIQA inspectors found that management had addressed a number of issues identified during previous inspections, particularly in relation to the condition of the premises.
Concerns previously raised about mould, damaged flooring, ageing furniture and fire safety measures had all been addressed by the provider.
Residents said they were happy living in the centre and were supported to take part in activities of their choosing, maintain links with family and friends.
Inspectors praised the staff team, noting that residents appeared comfortable in their presence and that positive relationships had been developed.
Overall, HIQA concluded that there had been a marked improvement in the quality and safety of services at Soolhaven since previous inspections.
