Seven people have lost their lives on roads in the Shannonside region so far this year.

Roads across the Shannonside Northern Sound region are among the most dangerous in Ireland.

That's according to figures provided by PARC; An Garda Siochana; and the Road Safety Authority which show that Cavan and Monaghan have recorded five deaths each on the roads during 2022.

Sligo is now being classed as the most dangerous county in the country with six deaths on its road so far this year - an increase of five on last year.
