Two local politicians are meeting food-safety bosses in Dublin today to discuss their concerns that Brazilian beef is entering the Irish foodchain.
Beef and other products from there will be banned from the EU from September, due to the presence of antibiotics in Brazilian animals.
Two Independent Ireland politicians - MEP Ciaran Mullooly and TD Michael Fitzmaurice - are meeting the chief executive of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, Greg Dempsey, today about the issue.
