Gardai are advising motorists to avoid the N5 if possible following a serious road crash at Scramogue Cross tonight.
The road is closed in both directions and is unlikely to re-open tonight.
Divert via the N4 if possible is the advice from Gardai

It's understood a pedestrian has been seriously injured following the incident and emergency services remain at the scene.
A technical examination will also be carried out and Gardai in Castlerea are appealing for any witnesses to contact them. 9
