Local Government and Planning Minister Peter Burke says the government remains committed to overseeing a fair deal for Bord na Mona workers in the wake of the closures of local power stations.
With Shannonbridge power station closing last Friday and Lough Ree power in Lanesboro closing this Friday the group of unions representing the workers has said that there's no guarantee they won't end up earning less on the bog rehabilitation schemes.
There's also concern that workers who wanted to take redundancy aren't being offered it.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon, Minister of State Peter Burke denied the government has washed its hands of the issue with the recent Just Transition announcements.
He said he and other colleagues are very aware of the issues faced by Bord na Mona workers.
