Gardaí in the Midlands are at the centre of a major organised crime investigation under Operation Tara.
Three men arrested today are being detained at Garda stations in the Midlands and Dublin in connection with alleged drug-related intimidation offences.
The nationwide operation began on Monday, with 16 homes and businesses searched.

Specialist units, supported by regional Crime and Drug Units - including those covering the Midlands - took part in the coordinated raids.
During the searches, 12 vehicles were seized, along with more than 32 thousand euro in cash, two kilograms of cannabis and several electronic devices.
Investigations are ongoing, with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
