A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Longford woman Sarah McNally, who was killed in New York last year. The 41 year old who was originally from Longford Town, had been living and working in the states for a number of years before her death. Sarah was killed on the 30th of March last year following an attack at her workplace, the Céilí House Bar in Maspeth, Queens. Queens District Attorney, Melinda Katz, confirmed yesterday that Marcin Pieciak pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Ms. McNally.
District Attorney Katz said, Marcin Pieciak walked into Sarah McNally’s place of employment and viciously attacked the 41-year-old. Pieciak who was in a relationship with Sarah, stabbed her 19 times before stabbing himself as he tried to escape the premises. The District Attorney also siad that a bar patron stopped Pieciak and detained him until police arrived. Supreme Court Justice Ushir Pandit-Durant is expected to sentence Mr. Pieciak on November 21st to 24 years in prison which is to be followed by five years of post-release supervision.
