A man was arrested in south Roscommon yesterday evening after reports of the unlawful discharge of a firearm.
The incident is understood to have happened outside a property at Oldtown Athlone shortly before half past six yesterday evening.
No one was injured in the incident.

The man arrested was detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Roscommon garda station and has since been released without charge.
