A funding boost of 700,000 euro has been allocated to St. Christopher's Services in Longford.
The monies was announced by Minister for Disabilities Anne Rabbitte on a visit to the facility yesterday.
The funding will be used to complete the refurbishment of the 200 year old former Governor's house on the Battery Road complex.

St. Christopher's also provides a new school leaver service which is located at the Axis Centre on the outskirts of the town.
Welcoming the funding Longford TD Joe Flaherty said the facilities at both centres are amongst the finest examples of the new care models anywhere in the country.
