Longford Westmeath Enterprise Minister wants reform in law on business closures

Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise Robert Troy says he's keen to make the process through which companies are wound up fairer to all sides.

The company law review group has begun looking at the examinership process, to make is less costly and adversarial.

Longford Westmeath TD and Minister Robert Troy says in the aftermath of the pandemic, the government is being particularly sensitive to small businesses owners who have had to close through no fault of their own.

He says any new regulations need to be proportionate.
