Longford Older Persons Council is asked people to consider calling on those who have retired from work this year.
While supports are in place through the Community Call initiative for those needing practical help this Christmas, many people who have retired this year have been left without the usual celebrations of their working life.
They have also had to put on hold many plans they had to travel or engage in the community for their retirement.
