The trial of a Longford man charged with manslaughter outside a bar last year will get underway this afternoon.
Gérard Melia, of Derrygowna, Lanesboro, has pleaded not guilty to the killing of 50 year old Noel McGann in the car park of a pub in Foigha in Longford on August 1st 2019.
A jury of seven men and five women were empanelled to hear the case at Longford Circuit Court, sitting in Mullingar, this morning.
Over 60 witnesses are expected to give evidence, with the trial estimated to last between three and for days.
