Longford County Council has secured one of the largest allocations nationally under the scheme, outside of the major cities around the country.
The council is being given almost €2 million euro which will allow them to bring 41 long term derelict houses back into use for the first time in years.
The funding will also allow for 24 houses that have been vacant for a shorter period to be refurbished.
Local TD Joe Flaherty says it's one of the biggest commitments ever made on social housing in the county and it'll provide a boost for the building industry locally.
Meanwhile Roscommon County Council is being allocated €280,000 for the refurbishment of 33 units in the county, and Leitrim Council will get €304,000 to allow them to bring 24 vacant houses back into stock.
