Longford activist says increased enforcement needed to tackle illegal parking

The Longford woman has been reacting to figures released by vision Ireland that show low levels of parking fines issued to cars illegally parked on footpaths in 2023.

A local disability activist is calling for more enforcement in the policing of illegal parking in the region. Maria Keelty say more needs to be done to punish motorists who park on footpaths. The Longford woman has been reacting to figures released by vision Ireland that show low levels of parking fines issued to cars illegally parked on footpaths in 2023.

The figures also show extremely low levels of enforcement of dog fouling fines. Maria Keelty is the Disability REP for the Longford Public Participation Network. She's calling on the public to consider others before they illegally park:
