After 12 years, the long-serving Carrick Carnival Committee has announced it will step down at the end of June. Since reviving the event in 2013, the volunteers have built the carnival into one of Leitrim's best-loved free family festivals.
In a statement shared on social media, the committee described the decision as "bittersweet". They are calling on new volunteers, community groups and local leaders to take up the reins and secure the carnival's future.
