Local Irish emigrants returning to the country are being encouraged to apply for business start up initiative. The Back for Business programme which is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, is a programme which supports entrepreneurial activity among emigrants returning to live in Ireland. This is the seventh year of the programme and there are up to 50 places available with the closing date for new applications on Monday the 15th of January at 5pm.
Longford woman Alison McMurtrie is one of the past participants of the programme and now has her own business, iDunn consulting. Speaking to Let's Talk earlier today, Alison encouraged anyone who has recently moved back to Ireland or is thinking of coming home, to apply for the programme:
