A much-loved local parish priest has been remembered as a "warm and bubbly person" at his funeral earlier today. Reverend Michael Campbell passed away on Friday, 30th of August at Drumderrig House Nursing Home, Boyle.

The Abbeylara Parish Priest was formerly a curate in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and Ferbane, Co. Offaly. Reverend Michael has also been described as a "powerhouse for community development" and a "gentleman" by locals in recent days.
