Just under 100 people are waiting for admission to hospitals in the Shannonside region.

90 people are currently waiting on trolleys across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region.

Today's figures from the INMO show many local hospitals are dealing with significant surges in patients waiting for beds.

University Hospital Galway has the highest figure today with 30 people waiting on a bed, one of which is under 16 years of age.

That's followed by Sligo General Hospital, where 24 people are on trolleys.

Elsewhere in the region Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe is dealing with 20 patients on trolleys or elsewhere in the facility waiting for a bed. In the Midlands, Tullamore and Mullingar Regional Hospitals have 13 and 3 people on beds respectively.

Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda and Cavan General Hospital are both reporting no patients on trolleys today.
