Sligo University Hospital was the second most overcrowded hospital in the country last month. According to new figures issued by the INMO, 885 patients were waiting on trolleys in June. Elsewhere, 142 patients were waiting for a bed last month at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar which is significantly up on the same time last year.
Portiuncula University Hospital also seen an increase last month, with 61 patients waiting on trolleys. Nationally, University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded in June.
