The government is being criticised for not developing as vaccination plan for members of the Gardai.
It's understood that over a dozen officers have had to self-isolate in the last number of weeks across the Shannonside region as result of the third wave of the virus with several also testing positive since last month.
The Garda Representative Association is calling on the government to roll out vaccines for gardaí as well as front line health staff in order to help stop the spread of the virus,

Garda Dave Conroy, GRA rep for Longford-Roscommon, says they understand healthcare staff need to get the vaccine first - but a plan for gardaí should also be discussed.
