A local councillor says a recent funding announcement of over €150,000 is vital for community groups in Roscommon. Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice was speaking following last week's Local Enhancement Programme allocation for the county. Six groups in Castlerea received funding including The Enterprise Hub, local Family Resource Centre, and the Town Trust.
The allocation for Roscommon consisted of €129,710 in capital funding and €21,976 in operational cost support. Cllr Fitzmaurice said this would go a long way to helping voluntary and community organisations:
