Thirteen year old Keela Plunkett from Ballydangan in south Roscommon won a national award in recent weeks in the augural Hero Awards national competition which was set up tp honour and celebrate Ireland's everyday heroes.
Keela has been picking littler along the roads near her home on a regular basis for the last year and a half and says it really annoys her that people can be so thoughtless as to throw bags, cans and other rubbish from their cars.
The second year Colaiste Chiarain student also says she's a fan of the young environmentalist Greta Thunberg and has been inspired by her actions and commitment to highlighting climate change.
She spoke to Anne Norris on the Let's Talk show on Thursday.
