Leitrim County Council is rejecting a request to develop playgrounds in two large housing estates in Carrick-on-Shannon. Sinn Féin councillor Cormac Flynn wants the council to build them in Oaklands in Summerhilll and Lis Cara on the Leitrim Road.
But the local authority says it can't build playgrounds in housing estates, for legal reasons. Councillor Flynn says he's disappointed it's not possible:
