A Leitrim councillor is justifying a gathering up to fifty young people in Drumsna harbour at the weekend.
It's understood that the pre 'back to school' event was organised for a smaller grouping of approximately 20, but larger than expected numbers attended the unofficial party.
The gardai were called after concerns were raised by boaters over the large numbers and anti-social behaviour of some of the group.

Speaking on Let's Talk this afternoon, independent councillor Enda Stenson says while it's not best practice, there is no alternative for young people who simply want to see each other and catch up.
