Leitrim artist Sinead Guickan says it's a huge honor to have her painting hanging on the walls of Leinster House.

Sinead first painted "Her Surrender" in 2016, having discovered that Elizabeth O'Farrell was 'airbrushed' from the photograph of Padraig Pearse delivering the surrender to Brigadier General William Lowe at the end of Easter week 1916.

Sinead was a Fianna Fail Councillor in Leitrim from 1999 to 2020 and served as Cathaoirleach of the council during that time.

Sinead told today's Let's Talk that it was a proud day to see her portrayal of a key women in Ireland's history at that time brought into the spotlight.
