LEADER companies in the Shannonside region are being allocated almost €2 million euro in transitional funding.
The funding, which amounts to 20 million euro for companies nationwide, will bridge a gap between the wind-up of the current programme and the start of the next EU programme, which is not likely to commence until 2023 due to delays at EU level.
Roscommon is to receive the largest allocation of over €804,787, €690,247 euro is going to Longford, and Leitrim will benefit from just over €545,316.
Project approvals under the Transitional Programme will commence from 1st April 2021, however, Local Action Groups can work on identifying and animating potential projects from 1st January 2021.
Local political representatives have welcomed the funding announcement which was made by Cavan Monaghan TD and Minister Heather Humphreys.
