Jobs club services in Leitirm and Roscommon may be impacted by new tenders

The Regional Employment Service (RES) model has been introduced as part of a Request for Tender launched by the government and while just four services will initially be affected it's likely to be broadened to take in many more as it's rolled out fully

There is a concern that Jobs Clubs in the Shannonside region could be badly affected by a new tender as part of the proposed changes to Employment Services.

However, the model is likely to be rolled out to all areas later this year with services in Leitrim and Roscommon set to be impacted.

Sonya Walsh is the co-ordinator of the Roscommon Jobs club which is based in Ballaghaderreen.

She believes that the personal service and advice which is on offer at local Jobs clubs will be lost under the new proposals.
