An independent facilitator is being appointed to try to end the row over Ballaghaderreen's public realm enhancement plan. Local residents and business owners are angry about the 4-point-5 million euro plan, which would see 47 car-parking spaces removed from the town.
Work has stopped as protests have been held on weekday mornings for the past number of weeks. Local councillor Micheál Frain says a facilitator will meet both sides shortly, to try to break the deadlock:
