Longford Westmeath Deputy and Minister for Trade Promotion Robert Troy is welcoming Huawei's jobs announcement and its continued investment in Athlone.
The company has announced today that it's to create a further 110 new jobs in Ireland by the end of 2022, mainly based in their headquarters in Dublin and across their operations in Athlone and Cork.
Huawei opened its first Research and Development centre in Athlone in 2011, and its also announced an investment of €40 million in Irish R&D over the next two years to support its business in Ireland.
Robert Troy says despite all the challenges of the past year, Ireland has demonstrated itself as a top investment option for some of the world's leading companies resulting in real quality jobs for people.
