Among the activities will be a real Witch Hunt, Donkey Racing, face-painting and face-pulling, a bouncy castle and many other traditional Halloween games and traditions.

The event is part of the Cultural Companions Programme, which is supported by Creative Ireland.

Dr Aengus Finnegan says it's not just a case of keeping the names for posterity, but encouraging people to use them in everyday conversation.

It's hoped work might begin later this year on construction.
