The Government is rejecting suggestions there's mixed messaging when it comes to dining in restaurants.

Restaurants, cafes and gastro pubs once again reopen following a period of restrictions.

Restaurants are open for business. Six people are allowed at a table, with no restriction on the number of households mixing

That's despite only being allowed meet up to six people from two households outdoors.

Minister Eamon Ryan has denied it's mixed messaging, while Minister Paschal Donohoe says it's too complicated to limit household mixing in restaurants.

50 million euro is expected to be spent in restaurants this weekend.
