The owner of the Wineport Lodge in Glasson says he believes the issue of publicans being asked to keep records of meals consumed by customers is not a major issue.
Ray Byrne was commenting following criticism of the new regulations requiring restaurants and pubs serving food to record all individual food orders and keep the information for 28 days.
The Vintners' Federation of Ireland has described the idea as "bureaucracy gone mad" and says its impractical for members to implement.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning though, Ray Byrne from the Wineport says he doesn't see any huge problem with it, and he says the main focus has to be getting businesses open and trading again.
Meanwhile Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail backbencher Marc McSharry is defending his description of the new regulations as 'Stasi-esque'.
Also speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning the TD says the hospitality industry is being unfairly portrayed in the efforts to keep Covid out of the community.
