The general manager at Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe says changes at the hospital in recent times have made a significant difference. James Keane was speaking at the official opening of a new 50-bed ward in Portiuncla Hospital.
It will not add extra beds to the hospital, but it will replace outdated facilities with single-bed rooms. Mr. Keane says from January there has been a 50-60% decrease on the amount of people waiting on trolleys:
