Routine Garda training exercise to take place locally

An Garda Síochána will conduct a routine training exercise in Co Roscommon on Friday today.

The exercise will take place between 12pm and 2:30pm in the vicinity of Lough Ree and Carnagh East.

Several specialist units will be involved, including the Garda Water Unit and Garda Air Support Unit.

Gardaí say such exercises help test operational responses, communications and coordination between units.

The training exercise is not open to members of the public or the media.
