Five members of the same Longford family have appeared in court in connection with an incident of criminal damage at a home in Longford last month.
All five were granted bail by Judge Deirdre Geraghty at their appearance at a special sitting of the District Court on Monday afternoon.
51-year-old Michael Stokes, with an address in Corboy, Edgeworthstown and charged with criminal damage to the front door and windows of a home in Lanna Aoibheann in Longford on the 21st of September as well as a section three assault on Ballymahon Street on the 18th of September of this year.
He was also charged with trespass at a yard in Stonepark on the 15th of May last year.
24-year-old Patrick Stokes and 19-year-old Ronan Stokes, also of Corboy, Edgeworthstown, were charged with a section three assault and criminal damage connected with the same incidents on the 18th and 21st of September.
20-year-old Francis Stokes and 46-year Sarah Stokes, both with an address in Corboy Edgeworthstown, were charged with criminal damage to the front door and windows of a house in Lanna Aoibheann on the same occasion as their co-accused.
Bail was granted for all five accused - with a number of conditions and the accused were also asked to stay away from Longford town or certain addresses but the court was heard that an exception to bail conditions would be allowed on November 5th for the wedding of Francis Stokes at St mel's cathedral.
All five are due back in court on December 8th next.
