The ESB says a fault on an overhead section near Moyne caused yesterday morning's power outages in north Longford.
Around 3,000 business and premises were affected from around 8 in the morning for up to 2 hours yesterday.
Work is now being carried out to assess if more work is needed to strengthen the network in the area.

An ESB statement says the tripping of a line in a separate incident caused around 100 customers to lose power until half past eleven yesterday morning.
