Elphin in Roscommon will be the focus of major regeneration plans in the coming months.
Residents of the market town met this week to dicuss proposals for town and village renewal funding with over 150 submissions already received through online consultation.
After the socially distant meeting on Wednesday, organised by Councillor Valerie Byrne, officials from Roscommon County Council stated the positive support from residents would enable them to develop larger projects for the area through the Rural Regeneration Programme.
This could mean an investment of at least half a million euro.
Although all proposals would be part of a competitive process, Councillor Byrne says it's an exciting prospect for the people of the area.
