Eir customers in local towns can now avail of 5G network coverage

A total of 13 towns in the Shannonside area will have access to 5G.

Eir customers in 23 towns across the Shannonside Northern Sound region can now avail of 5G network coverage.

5G can offer speeds up to ten times faster than 4G, which allows for the streaming of high-definition content without buffering.

Eir has also enabled 5G Roaming in 22 countries across Europe, Asia, Canada and the Middle East, with the USA and the United Kingdom to be added next year.

Six towns in Roscommon, four in Longford, and three in Leitrim now have 5G capability.

In the Northern Sound region, 5G is now available in five towns across Cavan and five in Monaghan.

All County towns across the region are connected to Eir's 5G network, and a full list of the 23 local towns can be found on our websites.

Carrick-on-Shannon, Drumsna, Manorhamilton.

Co Longford:

Ballymahon, Edgeworthtown, Longford Town, Mountdillon.

Co Roscommon:

Ballaghaderreen, Boyle, Cornafulla, Curraghboy, Roosky, Roscommon Town.
