An east Galway man has pleaded guilty to an assault in a Roscommon nightclub last year.
The 31-year-old appeared at Roscommon Circuit court recently, where he pleaded guilty to a section three assault in May of last year.
The court heard that a sum of €5,000 was being offered at this stage to the victim, through his solicitor, and another sum may be offered at a later date with no prejudice to any future civil action which may be taken.

The man was remanded on the same terms and is due back in court for sentence in November with Judge Francis Comerford also ordering the preparation of a victim impact statement.
