Dog rescued after getting in difficulty in Co. Roscommon last weekend

The drama began around 7 am when a Jack Russell called Max fell overboard from a cruiser.

Lecarrow in Roscommon was the scene of a dramatic water rescue last Sunday morning. The drama began around 7 am when a Jack Russell called Max fell overboard from a cruiser.

Max was one of two dogs onboard the vessel which was being piloted by his owners, West Cork couple Micheal and Edwina Gottstein. The boat was making its way from Lecarrow to Athlone when the alarm was raised with Athlone Sub Aqua Club. Speaking to Shannonside News, Max's owner Michael was thankful to all those who came to the family's aid:
