Covid cases continue steady decline across the country

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has been notified of 270 confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of midnight last night.

One additional death has also been recorded.

Roscommon has recorded 8 new cases of Covid but Leitrim, Longford and Westmeath are also reported to have fewer than 5 new cases each.

As of 2 o' clock this afternoon  291 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised.

39 of them are being treated  are in ICU.

There have been 12 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
