Five local electoral areas have Covid-19 incidence rates that are over twice the national average.
Galway City Central's 14-day rate was 951 per 100,000 on Monday - the highest in the country.
Updated figures from the CSO show that incidence rate of Covid 19 is significantly higher in county Longford than it is in Leitrim and Roscommon.
The rate of infection in the Ballymahon electoral area per one hundred thousand of population is 381.5, with the national rate standing at 269.3.
It's the direct result of 54 cases in the wider electoral area, from the 2nd to the 15th of this month.
The Longford electoral area has seen 39 new cases in those two weeks, with an incidence rate of 243.
The Roscommon electoral area had a much lower incidence rate of over of 132 with 30 confirmed cases, with 27 cases in the Athlone electoral area and 24 in the Boyle electoral area.
The incidence rate in county Roscommon is below the national average, at 135 and 132 in Athlone and Roscommon local electoral areas respectively, while it's 100 in the Boyle LEA.
In Leitrim, the Carrick on Shannon electoral area has a similar incidence rate at 132 per 100,000 of population with just 15 cases in the first two weeks of February while there have been 17 cases in the Ballinamore electoral area in that period with an incidence rate of 173.4.
