A local councillor has warned business owners the deadline for a lucrative Government grant is fast approaching. The Increased Cost of Business grant could see small and medium businesses receive a 50 per cent refund on rates. Roscommon councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice said the refund would ease pressure on SMEs in the region.
However, he expressed concern that just 45 per cent of those eligible had applied so far ahead of the May 1st deadline. Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr Fitzmaurice urged businesses owners to start the application process as soon as possible:
