A Fianna Fáil councillor is criticising the decision to exclude Longford town from new short-term-let laws. The clampdown on Airbnbs and similar properties was going to apply to towns with over 20,000 people - but that's now down to 10,000. This means Longford town will be excluded.

The new rules are aimed at freeing up more rental accommodation. Longford councillor Uruemu Adejinmi says the government is wrong to water them down:
