There are serious concerns Lanesborough's GP services are being eroded, according to a senator. Joe Flaherty says Dr Ali retired recently after serving Lanesborough and Longford town for many years. The Fianna Fáil politician says he's now worried Lanesborough will lose its second GP.
He's calling for Health Minister, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, and the HSE to intervene. Senator Flaherty told the Seanad the problem started when Dr Ali retired:
