Church Music Directors in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are expressing their dismay at new guidance that choirs will not be permitted to perform at services over Christmas.
Due to the increased risk of Covid-19 transmission from people singing in proximity to others, the Health Protection has stated that carol singing will not be permitted at religious services.
Recommendations included running additional services, increased stewarding of parishioners, and for churches to set up an advance booking system where necessary for places at services.
