The chairperson of a Roscommon charity fund says he's delighted it can proceed with a major fundraiser this year. The Lecarrow Benevolent Fund was granted a charity number in recent weeks allowing it to host its annual Monster Auction this summer.
It comes after it was forced to postpone its event - which usually takes place every June - last year. The fund was established in 2001 and has since raised hundreds of thousands of euro for local charities, community groups and those in need. Chairperson Billy Kelly says the annual Monster Auction will take place in August this year:
