Campaign to bring greenway through Ballinasloe gathers momentum

The campaign to bring the Athlone to Galway greenway through Ballinasloe is gaining momentum.

There are just 12 days until the March 1st deadline for submissions with five routes, including two through Ballinasloe town, closes.

The Athlone to Ballinasloe Greenway group maintains that as one of the largest towns in the area it should not be overlooked in terms of a boost for people and businesses in the area, which have not seen any major investment in years.

Antoinette Gallagher who has been campaigning to bring the greenway through the town since 2017, says it’s ideally placed in terms of a break on the route.
