People who intend going out on Lough Ree over the coming days and weeks are being reminded again to be wary of changeable weather conditions.
The warning comes after an incident on the lake yesterday where 7 people had to be rescued from a cruiser that became grounded north of Nun's Island.
Conditions on the lake were poor yesterday but the lifeboat crew was able to reach the scene quickly and tow the vessel to safe water.
Tom Maguire who's PRO with Lough Ree RNLI says with the boating season getting underway in earnest in the coming days and weeks people are being asked to take every safety precaution before they head out on the water.
