People living in the Diocese of Elphin are being offered the opportunity to collect special sachets of blessed ashes today from their local church.
A statement on the diocesan Facebook page says church goers can also collect a printed copy of a specially prepared prayer service to help them mark this special day in the Church calendar.
Anyone who does go into the church to collect the ashes or the printed prayer service is being asked to respect physical distancing and hygiene guidelines.
